Mr. Marcus Toney-El

Marcus Toney-El, commonly known as Coach El received his BA in Liberal Studies/History and a minor in Business Management from Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ. He also was a four year basketball player at SHU and twice named a team captain. Upon completion of his collegiate career, Coach El would go on to play professional basketball overseas in three different countries before a knee injury would end his playing career. Marcus Toney-El went on to be an assistant coach at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Hackensack, NJ for three years before being a head coach in high school at N. 13th St Tech. After two years at N.13 St. Tech, Coach El would join our Immaculate Conception family as the associate head coach for our boys basketball team as well as an educator teaching US 1 to our sophomore class. His role has grown over the years where he has taught US 2 as well as public speaking. Mr. Toney-El also works in our admissions office and helps out in our guidance dept. Coach El loves to cook as he says it’s therapeutic for him and he also enjoys watching/talking sports, being a mentor and going on vacations. His favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5-7 it reads: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not in your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your path. Be not wise in your own eyes: Fear the Lord, and depart from evil.”
