IC Student Spotlight

We at Immaculate Conception High School want to share with you our Student Spotlight series in which we recognize our students’ talents and achievements! Today, we want to showcase Niyah Whitten.

Niyah is a very bright junior who has demonstrated amazing talents inside and outside of IC. She is an honor student who is a highly motivated person. Her favorite class is Algebra II Honors. She enjoys having to work with numbers and finds mathematics easy.

Outside of the classroom, Niyah showcases her talents on the basketball court. She is a shooting guard, point guard, and small forward for the IC Lady Lions. She is kind, dedicated, respectful, and hardworking.  In her free time, when she is not playing for the Lady Lions, Niyah enjoys watching Netflix including her favorite show, Grey's Anatomy.

She hopes to major in sociology in college.

We at Immaculate Conception High School want to share with you our Student Spotlight series in which we recognize our students’ talents and achievements! Today, we want to showcase Gian Martinez.

Gian is a very bright sophomore who has demonstrated amazing talents inside and outside of IC. Gian is an extremely hard-working student who is a motivated person. He is currently taking courses such as Spanish II, Geometry, Honors Chemistry, and US History. Gian is co-captain of the IC Robotics Team.

Many robotics clubs have a group of students who are on the building team and a separate group of students who are on the coding team.  Gian uses his talents on both the building team and the coding team.  Outside of school, he built the robot in his bedroom with his brother, Jibrael ‘24. He has also assisted in programming the robot to perform certain functions in this year's game.  He is dedicated, respectful, hardworking.  When he is not working on the robot, he enjoys playing Minecraft and reading the Percy Jackson book series.

In the future, he hopes to pursue a career in engineering after college.

 

Milagros Correa Class of 2021

We at Immaculate Conception High School want to share with you our Student Spotlight series in which we recognize our students’ talents and achievements! Today, we want to showcase Milagros Correa.

Milagros is a new student and senior who has demonstrated amazing talents inside and outside of IC. Milagros is a very respectful and an extremely hard-working student. She is a motivated person who has earned high marks in the classroom. She is currently taking courses such as Advanced Placement Biology, Honors English IV, Honors Pre-Calculus, and US History III. Milagros plays volleyball and softball. She hopes to play softball at ICHS.

Outside of school, Milagros is very driven and hard-working. She works at the Nickelodeon Universe located in American Dream in the entertainment complex in the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey, In her free time she hangs out with friends and watches Supernatural.

She has already been accepted to Fairleigh Dickinson University, St Peter’s University, Seton Hall University, Penn State University, and Montclair State University. She wants to study business and biology.

We at Immaculate Conception High School want to share with you our Student Spotlight series in which we recognize our students’ talents and achievements! Today, we want to showcase Thomas Pennetta.

Thomas is a senior who has demonstrated amazing talents inside and outside of IC. Thomas is a respectful, extremely hard-working, and kind student. His sister, Alexa Hart, class of 2015 Valedictorian, went on to Felician University with a major in Psychology and Art.  He has already been accepted to Fairleigh Dickinson University, St. Lawrence University, Caldwell University, and St. Thomas Aquinas College. He wants to study business. He is an extremely motivated person who has earned good grades in the classroom and currently taking courses such as Honors English IV, Personal Finance, Religion IV, and US History III

Thomas is also a member of the chess club, varsity Track and Field all 4 years, captain of the Lions Football team, NJSFC 1st Team all Conference in 2018 and 2019.

Outside of school, Thomas enjoys his hobbies like weightlifting and bowling. Community service is important to him. He volunteers his time to Joi’s Angels,  a loving shelter for the homeless and disadvantaged.

Thomas hopes to play football in college after graduating from IC.
