Summer Reading 2011

All students must read the book assigned to their grade level. All students will be tested on the reading in September. Students who pass the test with a grade of 85 or higher will receive 5 points toward their grade for the first marking period in one subject area of their choosing. Students who show evidence of not having read the book, will lose 5 points from their first marking period in English.

Freshman: At Risk by Alice Hoffman

Sophomores: Boy's Life by Robert McCammon

Juniors: The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield

Seniors: Bag of Bones by Stephen King

Senior students in AP classes must read all of the following books.

Anthem by Ayn Rand

Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck

Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving

Revolutionary Characters by Gordon S. Wood

Property by Valerie Martin

The instructors will decide on the testing process for the AP students

Math Assignment for Tenth Graders:

Students entering sophomore year in September:

If you work for 10 hours successfully on Study Island you will receive 5 extra points on your math average for the first marking period.
